Evelyn F. Sohi is Special Litigation Counsel in Fullerton Beck LLP’s Long Island office. She focuses her practice on New York Labor Law, general liability, insurance defense, and appellate litigation. With more than two decades of legal experience, Evelyn brings a distinctive perspective to the defense of complex matters, having represented insurance carriers, insureds, and plaintiffs throughout her career.

Having practiced on both the plaintiff and defense sides of litigation, as well as serving as in-house counsel for a major insurance carrier, Evelyn understands the strategies and litigation tactics that shape personal injury and labor law claims. This breadth of experience enables her to anticipate opposing arguments, evaluate exposure early, and develop practical defense strategies tailored to her clients’ goals.

Known for her meticulous and investigative approach, Evelyn has extensive experience handling insurance fraud investigations, Special Investigations Unit (SIU) matters, coverage issues, and claims involving alleged material misrepresentations. She leaves no stone unturned in identifying critical facts and developing defenses grounded in a thorough understanding of the record.

Appellate Advocacy

Evelyn has successfully written and argued appeals before the Appellate Division, First and Second Departments. Her experience spans all phases of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, mediation, trial preparation, and trial support.

Her interest in the law began early. While still in high school, she served as a legal intern for the Honorable Phyllis Gangel-Jacob of the New York Supreme Court, an experience that helped launch a legal career spanning more than two decades.
