Super Lawyers Brandon Berkowski

Brandon defends corporations, nonprofits, and other institutions sued for alleged employee assault and abuse.  His practice focuses on defending claims under the New York Child Victims Act, including negligent hiring, retention, and supervision; infliction of emotional distress; failure to report; and successor liability.

Brandon is also an experienced litigator in the areas of general liability, medical malpractice, nursing home and long-term care, and appeals.  He defends complex claims through all phases of pre-trial litigation and has had great success winning pre-answer dismissal and summary judgment, as well as negotiating favorable resolutions in difficult cases.  He takes pride in providing clients with timely, concise case evaluations and developing practical defense strategies.

Prior to joining Fullerton Beck LLP, Brandon was a senior associate in medical malpractice defense at a private firm.  He also litigated employment discrimination and civil rights actions in federal court.  During law school, Brandon worked in the Office of the General Counsel for the New York City Council on employment law and municipal governance issues.  

He earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he was an associate editor of the Fordham Law Review and received the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award for his work with the City Council. He also earned an M.F.A from Brooklyn College and a B.A. from the University of Detroit Mercy.  

Brandon is admitted to practice in the New York state courts and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.  He has earned the honor of being included in Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch for Medical Malpractice Law.
