Fullerton Beck Resolves Bronx Pedestrian Injury Lawsuit in Just Six Days After Uncovering Key Property Records

March 3, 2026

A personal injury lawsuit in the Bronx was resolved in just six days from inception to resolution after Fullerton Beck Partner Gerard Crowe uncovered property records proving his client was not the adjoining owner responsible for a fallen cable that struck a passerby.

The plaintiff claimed he was walking down a Bronx street when a cable fell from a building where work was underway and hit him. He alleged that our client, as the owner of the adjoining property, was liable for the accident.

However, a prompt review of recorded deeds and municipal property documents revealed a critical detail. The accident occurred on a street that did not adjoin the defendant’s property. Although the client’s building was substantial and adjacent overall, a narrow corner structure, on which work was also being done, separated the properties along the relevant frontage. As a result, the building where the work was being performed was not legally adjoining the defendant’s property on the street where the incident occurred.

After presenting the documentation establishing that our client had no ownership interest or duty connected to the accident site, the claim was quickly discontinued, bringing the matter to a close less than a week after it began.

This case demonstrates how Fullerton Beck’s responsiveness, diligence and resourcefulness can lead to a quick resolution, saving our client from costly litigation.
