Verne Pedro, managing attorney of Fullerton Beck’s New Jersey office and insurance coverage practice, will be presenting at the First Party Claims Conference, which be held virtually this year on October 19 & 20, 2020. The First Party Claims Conference (FPCC) is a nationally recognized provider of education specifically designed for adjusters, public adjusters, attorneys and others in the first party property insurance claims community.

Verne and his co-presenter will present the following breakout session, “What Policyholders, Public Adjusters and Lawyers Should Know About Ransomware / Cyber Attacks / Computer Hacks / Phishing – Physical Loss/Damage? – BI, Loss of Use and Digital Currency.” The presentation will identify and discuss these and other key topics:

  • Common methods of cyber-attacks, including ransomware, phishing and related issues;
  • Cyber-attacks that can cause direct or indirect physical damage though the exploitation of vulnerable information systems and processes;
  • An overview of insurance coverage for cyber risks;
  • Business interruption issues associated with cyber loss and claim handling strategies
