William E. Bell – Of Counsel

William E. Bell has over 30 years’ experience defending clients in general liability, insurance defense, product liability, and maritime cases in New York and Federal courts. Bill’s clients have included construction managers, property owners, manufacturers, shipowners, and stevedores. He has handled cases from the pleading and discovery stages through motions to trials and appeals in both state and federal courts. Bill has experience in Labor Law, construction defect, premises liability, motor vehicle, cargo loss and damage, defective product, seaman’s, passenger’s and longshoreman’s cases.

Working with and for both insurance carriers and clients directly Bill has developed skills to obtain results and develop strategies to secure them involving clients and carriers every at every step of the process. This insures not only outcomes in lines with the client’s interests, but also does so economically and efficiently. Timely reporting and consultation is the backbone of his case handling.

Bill’s undergraduate degree is from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. He earned his law degree from Fordham University in New York City. He is admitted in New York, the federal district courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Bill is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the Maritime Law Association of the United States. He participates as a volunteer attorney at Monday Night Law providing legal advice to moderate means individuals on a pro bono basis. Bill is also vice president of Friends of Olmsted-Beil House, a group restoring a farmhouse on Staten Island built in the 1600s in which Frederick Law Olmsted lived in the 1850s
