Matthew Lechner – Law Clerk
A recent law school graduate, Matthew joined Fullerton Beck with a diverse background, having worked as a paralegal before law school and holding several externships, internships and clerkships during law school.
His externships required him to delve into niche subject matters, driving him to hone his legal writing and research skills. He was charged with drafting motions, appellate briefs, petitions, contracts and other legal documents and helped senior lawyers prepare for court conferences and trials by participating in mock arguments.
Particularly notable was his internship with the Honorable Melissa Crane in the Civil Court, Commercial Division of New York County and working as a law clerk in a litigation firm – two invaluable perspectives of litigation: the judicial and defense perspectives, both of which will inform his practice at Fullerton Beck.
Matthew gained a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances in the practice of law across disciplines, and it provided him with a framework from which to launch his legal career.
