Lucinda Alfieri DeCaprio – Partner
Partner Lucinda Alfieri DeCaprio joins the firm as a former partner of a national law firm where she managed a general liability account for the largest public housing authority in North America.
Lucinda has extensive experience handling all aspects of complex general liability cases, including premises liability, automobile, toxic torts, and construction cases from inception through trial. She effectively works with clients to develop defense strategies including early resolution.
As a trial attorney, Lucinda has tried complex tort cases throughout the NYC metropolitan area in both state and federal courts. A defense verdict she received in a toxic tort case was recognized by the New York Law Journal as one of the top defense verdicts of that year.
Lucinda began her legal career as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of New York where she was appointed a Tort Trial Specialist while working in the Special Litigation Unit of the Tort Division. She represented the City and its various agencies defending high exposure cases including premises security, negligent retention and hiring, as well as false arrest actions in both state and federal courts.
Lucinda frequently presents continuing legal education courses for her peers as well as lectures on trial preparation and defense strategies in tort cases for corporate clients. She is a member of the Board of Directors of a local chapter of Habitat for Humanity and mentors a middle school Mock Trial Team.
She received her JD degree from Brooklyn Law School, attended Villanova University and received her B.A. degree, with honors, from Wagner College. She is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New York; the State of New Jersey and the U.S. Federal District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York, as well as the District of New Jersey.
